Mat Pilates incorporates a series of floor-work exercises that focuses on postural alignment, core strength, and muscle balance. It targets the deepest layers of the muscles, which stabilize and support the spine and pelvis to achieve ideal posture and alignment. Emphasis is placed on precise movement that originate from the center or core of the body, stretching and strengthening it, as well as developing control and endurance.
